Polycarbonate for your roof
- Lightweight
- Transparency and brightness
- Shock resistance
- Thermal insulation
- UV resistance
- Flexibility and ease of formatting
- Easy to maintain
Polycarbonate offers a number of significant advantages for cladding, making it a popular choice for a variety of building projects.
- Lightweight Polycarbonate is much lighter than glass and other traditional roofing materials, making it easier to transport, handle and install. This lightness also reduces structural costs, as less robust supports are required.
- Transparency and luminosity Polycarbonate can be transparent or translucent, allowing high light transmission (up to 90% for some types). This makes it an excellent choice for greenhouses, conservatories or roofs where natural light is desired.
- Impact resistancePolycarbonate is extremely impact-resistant (up to 200 times more than glass). It is therefore highly durable and can withstand extreme weather conditions, such as hail, without cracking or breaking.
- Thermal insulation Polycarbonate, in its honeycomb form, provides good thermal insulation. It is able to retain heat inside while reducing energy loss, which is ideal for buildings requiring effective thermal regulation.
- UV resistance Polycarbonate is often treated with UV protection, which prevents the material from yellowing or deteriorating under the effect of the sun. This extends the life of the cover and maintains its clarity over time.
- Flexible and easy to shape Polycarbonate is a flexible material that can be cold-bent and shaped to suit a variety of shapes and structures. This flexibility makes it highly versatile for complex architectural designs.
- Easy maintenancePolycarbonate covers are easy to maintain. A simple wipe down with soapy water is usually all that’s needed to maintain their appearance and transparency.
